the biggest problem with mail-in voting that I have yet to see discussed at all: it eliminates secret ballots within families. I say this as an Oregon resident who personally filled in and returned the ballots of two grown kids who moved away from the State 3 years ago. They are oblivious (and I have not asked if they are now registered in Texas or New York - I don't think my son even knows he was ever registered in Oregon, as everyone who applies for a driver's license gets a ballot mailed to them in perpetuity to the address on that original license, even after it expires. (Another irony, I can't vote in Oregon myself as I continually renew my Texas DL from 10 years ago.)

Good point. I wonder how many parents in that situation vote multiple times.
